1.) External factors:
-Cultural differences like time, language, icons, currency, and date.
They adjust their operations because they need to make those changes in order for the customer to understand and meet their needs.
2.) ISPS:
-The system transmits data about each data shipments in hours or even days before the package arrives at customs. Then customs could take the information and process the necessary paper work so when the actual partials arrive they could quickly pass through.
3.) DIAD:
-It’s a little computer that catches recipient’s signatures. The data collected by the device is then transferred into UPS by using a special adaptor.
4.) Global expansion:
-You meet the needs of the customers and you capture the info and have it ready for the customer to know where his or her package is. The advantage that UPS gains are that it makes it easier for them and for their customer to process or receive.
5.) Volume:
-Everything they touch the volume implication is tremendous and causes the system to be developed differently.
