Chapter 5

.) The George Washington University gives its students wireless high-speed Internet access by using Cisco Aironet and to secure that it was only for staff and students they used Cisco’s VPN.

.) The University differentiates between the ways that staff and students utilize the network because staff members traditionally are business users and students have more of a creative usage and academics go for that freedom.

.) Before adopting Cisco, George Washington University had its university running by multiple vendors and they also ran into problems like interoperability issues.

.) The George Washington University benefited from Cisco because now they had one platform to manage their network equipment.

.) They purchased a building adjacent to an existing campus and moved most of their data center functions to the new building for expiation reasons and for disaster recovery.
